Cincy,

The issue is NOT that they don't have a place to park. It is that they have Illegially converted their Garages (the places they should be parking) into additional bedrooms, appartments, or rental units. Then they are gripping that they don't have anywhere to park all of their cars. I have seen as many as 13-14 cars and trucks associated with one home. These homes are not big either... Usually under 1500 sq/ft!

And where would the car owner park his/her car? if he/ she doesn't have a garage.
By the way, funny suggestion. lol :D

Thats interesting. In Austin we are having the opposite problem. People are complaining that developers are building only small condos that can not be occupied by families and therefore families are being excluded from the urban core.

I enjoyed the interview. Yes, it was funny, but the explanation of the sub prime pools of mortgage backed securities was right on. Shows how blind the investment community was to the fact that unrealistic and inflated home market values could actually come down at some point.

These are good statistics to show any potential sellers along with average number of days on the market before the home actually sold. Sellers need to be educated today. Showing them the facts usually does the trick.

Wow this seems like a problem. I think this is over governence however I see both sides. I do still think this is just not going to work if people are willing to convert garages does the government really think people wont convert a den to a bedroom?

$21 million for an elementary school should make people jump to want to live in that district. That's a nice gift of $6 million to help out.

While I do not mind if people smoke, I do not like when they throw the butts away wherever they are. The story of your niece reminds me of the movie Biodome, where they pick up enough butts to make a huge air filter. It is also sad that a lot of that trash is pick up and taken into the ocean, and then who knows where. Kudos to this law.

I cant really decide. On the one hand I hate the government getting involved in stuff like this. On the other hand it doesnt seem like that much trouble to not park in your front yard. I assume they mean in the yard and not in the driveway.

I, like Ben, agree with the fact that legislation is playing a dangerous game when it comes to dictating what homeowners can/can't do with their own properties. Fortunately it does serve a purpose and prevents some really dis-tasteful and absurd things from happening, but it can also be quite ridiculous. I personaly love the ones (homeowners association) that tell you that no pick up trucks can be in the driveway. They must be parked in the garage. So trivial...
